Annual Philatelic Weekend


The Annual Philatelic Weekend is becoming increasingly popular, and provides the opportunity for members to display and view collections in a relaxed and cordial atmosphere.

The Charlecote Pheasant HotelThe last eleven annual Philatelic Weekends have proved very successful and so again in 2019 the event will be at the same venue - Charlecote Pheasant Hotel, Charlecote, near Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire CV35 9EW from Friday 1st March to Sunday 3rd March. The Annual General Meeting will be held during the Conference. Full details and prices will be outlined as information becomes available.

    A new convenor is required for the London Meetings - Chris Hitchen has kindly stepped temporarily into the position for May,

     

    Can you fulfill the position? A brief job description is thus:
    Arrange the program – venue, dates and speakers
    Circulate details of each meeting to those in the appropriate region around 10 to 14 days in advance and endeavour to encourage a good attendance
    Discuss with those coming to meetings what they would like to see and how they would wish displays and presentations to be conductedEnsure that the program is publicised as widely as possible

  •          Northern Group        
    The next meeting will be held on the July 14th 2018. The whole day will be devoted to members' displays.
    The meeting will be held at the Broom Methodist Church, 195 Broom Lane, Rotherham, S60 3NW from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm. Non-members are warmly welcomed to attend the meeting.

     

     

  •         Wessex Group        
    The next meeting will held on 30th June 2018, at 10.30am at the Scout Hall, Lower Street, Harnham, Salisbury, SP2 8HB. There will be two subjects: 'Censorship of French colonial mail and POW mail' and 'The French antimalarial campaign'. Following lunch, the afternoon will be devoted to members’ displays. Non-members are warmly welcomed to attend the meeting.


          

    the subject will be ‘The stamps and postal history of the Sower issue’. Following lunch, the afternoon will be devoted to members’ displays.
  •            London Group           
    The next meeting will take place on Saturday 5th May at the Calthorpe Arms PH, 252 Grays Inn Road, London WC1X 8JR. The morning display will be ‘Transatlantic mail’, followed by lunch at the Calthorpe Arms. The afternoon will be devoted to members’ displays. Non-members are warmly invited to attend.
